When we were young, we are often asked by our parents what we want to be when we grow up. This question may be rephrased in business like, “What do you want your business to end up?” When we put up a business, we have to set our business goals which will motivate us to strive harder and achieve something great in the end.

If when you were still a kid, you said you wanted to be a doctor or maybe a lawyer, your parents would always tell you to study hard to achieve your ambition. This is because you cannot be a doctor, a lawyer or any professional if you don’t study hard. In business on the other hand, if you want to have success like higher sales and a bigger company in the future, you make sure you do something now that will allow you to get what you want.

Asking you when you were just a kid is just similar to starting up a business. Even at the very first steps you make in this venture, you should already know what you want; and the things and people around you will help you realize how to get where you want to be. Along the way, you may change your mind, like you want to be a teacher instead of a doctor and this could also happen to business.

Whatever it is that you encounter in our journey, they can contribute in what you want, think and feel. It is not wrong to consider everything around you, nor is it unwise to change your mind with what you want. The bottom line here is that we have to start as early as now. Know where you want to go and try hard to get there. If however, things may not go the way you want them to, you will surely find something that will lead you to the best end.
